JJ Cale dies; wrote Clapton, Skynyrd hits

LA JOLLA, Calif. (AP) — Influential musician JJ Cale, whose best-known songs became hits for Eric Clapton with "After Midnight" and Lynyrd Skynyrd with "Call Me the Breeze," has died. He was 74.
